It’s March and i’m writing the panto…Aladdin…for the Everyman Theatre , Cheltenham. Nearly got a rough first draft….but lots more to do.
I now have a shape for my year
For the next two months I will be working at Swansea Met University. As part of their UNKNOWN PLEASURES project I will be working with their third year performing arts students creating a site-specific production of David Almonds SKELLIG. We are creating an extensive education project that will work hand in hand with the production in Swansea schools. Very exciting
In April I will also be doing some work at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. I will be working with the graduating design students on their portfolios. I really love this work
I will ,in the next two months be developing the research for the qualification for youth theatre leaders. I will be doing this with NAYT and Rose Bruford College
In May I will be re-directing GEORGES MARVELLOUS MEDICINE before it starts its tour of the Far East
In June I will be directing HORRIBBLE HISTORIES THE EVIL EGYPTIANS that will open in Horsham at the end of June and then open in the Sydney Opera House on the 2nd July. Very exciting
I will stay in Australia for a few weeks
In August I will be in Southwold to direct SLEUTH as part of the Summer Theatre Season, It’s a play I have always wanted to direct…..and I adore Southwold…..A glorious summer
In September I will direct HORRIBLE SCIENCE prior to its’ national tour for BSC
October I will take a holiday. This year i’m going on a printing course in Spain….can’t wait
November and its Panto Time in Cheltenham. This year it’s Aladdin. Lots of my favourite actors and creatives will be back yet again. Can’t wait
December and i’m directing a new production of HORRIBLE HISTORIES CRACKER XMAS for Derby Playhouse. Very exciting. I’ve not worked there before so really looking forward to building a partnership with the theatres’ creative team
HORRIBLE HISTORIES The Vile Victorians &The Terrible Tudors continues its’ national tour till July. I saw it in Llanelli last week. What a great new theatre.
And that’s me for 2013. A pretty packed and diverse year. Can’t wait!
